It’s a balmy summer evening and you just want something, anything, to help quench your thirst and alleviate the heat. Bar terraces are fine, but how about a bar that is a terrace, so to speak. Opened just last year, the Jardins Gamelin is a funky beer garden built right inside a park near Montreal’s busiest downtown metro station. It features modern architecture, a restaurant and plenty of seating, bar service from Thursday to Sunday, free wifi and is overhung by a magnificent luminous canopy. Open daily from May 12 to October 2 from 7:30 am to 11 pm, it will host events like dance nights, workshops, shows, live music, karaoke nights, after work happy hour, free board game days and more. Whether you just want to pop by for a quick beer under the illuminated canopy or are going especially for one of their many activities, this is a not-to-be-missed Montreal staple for the upcoming summer.
Location: Place Émilie-Gamelin, 1500, Rue Berri. Closest subway station: Berri Uqam. A 16 minute walk south from leQube Apartments.
