If you haven’t yet ventured up to the Mile-Ex neighbourhood to check out Alexandraplatz bar, here’s another great reason to do so. The bar is hosting “Weinplatz,” a bi-weekly event dedicated to wine that will take place every second Wednesday for the rest of the season. Come out and taste natural wines, rosés, sparkling wines, and more in a cozy laidback setting.
Named after Berlin’s well-known public square and transport hub, Alexandraplatz is a bohemian, hidden bar that occupies a garage space tucked away among industrial buildings in the Mile-Ex—the neighbourhood north of the Mile End and west of Little Italy (also sometimes known as Marconi-Alexandra). Bright and spacious, with cool decor and outdoor seating options, the minimalist space is one of the city’s best summer hangouts. The bar hosts various events throughout the summer, and they have local beers and cider on tap, creative cocktails, and a great selection of wine. Tasty food options are also available, as most days you’ll find light fare BBQ’d in the parking lot and food trucks parked nearby.
