If you’ve been in Montreal for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed that Montrealers love a good craft beer. Indeed, the patios and parks in summer are bustling with people enjoying the sunshine and a cold brew. Some notable new additions to the beer scene are about to open or have already opened over the past few months. If you’re wondering what patio to hit for a microbrewed pint, or where is the best place to grab a local Quebec beer to go, you should definitely check out these four places.

  1. Microbrasserie 4 Origines

Montreal’s newest microbrewery, 4 Origines, opened up in Pointe Saint Charles this spring. In a great location right next to the canal, the bar is a true microbrewery with all of the beer production done on the premises. The bar doesn’t serve food, but you are allowed to bring in your own to enjoy with a cold brew. Every Saturday from noon onwards you can visit their facilities to learn about the brewing process.

  1. Bar Pamplemousse

Bar Pamplemousse, a hip new craft beer venue in the Latin Quarter, opened up just a few weeks ago with 20 local beers on tap. The carefully curated selection is complemented by a Caribbean-inspired menu of food from a wood-burning oven. The décor is lovely, and it’s perfectly located for grabbing a drink amid summer festival activities in the Latin Quarter or at Place-Des-Arts. Already accumulating five-star reviews on social media, this place is definitely one to check out.
